Icona Pop ft. Charli XCX – I Love It Remixes

Hot Mouth and Sick Individuals remix. Huge hype surrounding this Icona Pop remix was confirmed earlier this week. My favourite of the bunch is the Hot Mouth funky rendition, but the Sick Individuals and their electro vibe come in at a close second. Both are markedly different so pick your favourite.

Heren – Never Let Me Go

I’m a sucker for progressive-electro house, so naturally I love everything Heren does. His remix and original tracks (Our Love, Nitro Party Music) are masterful transitions on smooth electro. Never Let Me Go is more of an awesome thing nothing more to say. His songs are getting better each time and I hope he releases more songs on a regular basis, but this will have to suffice for now. – Jordan

Arty ft. Jenson Vaughan – One Love One Universe

Happy humpday people. I am already planning out my entire day for Friday hour by hour in anticipation. Arty released this track today One Love One Universe with the vocal accompaniment of Jenson Vaughan. Whenever Arty releases new material I get as excited as a fat kid in a cake shop, no joke, kidding aside I knew I had heard this song where before. After some digging I realized it is just his previously released song Kate, colour me disappointed, but its all still good if you prefer the vocal version. I’m still not in favour of the vocals as they just make the song too fruity and whimsical for my liking but to each their own. Listen to both versions and decide for yourself. – Jordan

The Killers – Runaways (Pierce Fulton remix)

One of my favourite producers for a while now Pierce Fulton has released his rendition of The Killers – Runaways. He uses his indescribable technique to smooth out the vocals on his soothing track. This comes after his successful release of his Sink or Swim EP; he cannot make a bad song in my opinion. Listen in if you are a Killers fan or a Fulton fan you won’t be disappointed.

Stefano Noferini, Techy Tuesday

The undisputed tech-house king Stefano Noferini continues to redefine the genre and the capabilities  of his the production style. Admittedly I have not always been a tech-house fan but as EDM continues to evolve I have swayed my preferences to the genre’s capability to maintain the house music feel. It is simple but the complexity arises from the rhythm and progression it can maintain. Tech-house can rock any party on par with big-room tracks and Stefano Noferini’s productions are no slouch. Remixing his own tech-gem track Burujava he simplifies the beat and focuses on the bassline and keeps those tapping tribal drums. Koja just shows how big, fast pace and loud tech-house can go. It is non-stop powerhouse tech and does not break down for a water break. Listen up and maybe I can tech your life up a bit.

Rick Mitchells – Sub Zero

Incase you didn’t hear. Sub Zero is a nasty track sitting easy in the Beatport top-10 Trance chart. Deep, loud, fat, big-room bass in your face. This song will get anyone into the party mood, rip off their shirts, take a few 151 shots, and rave till 8am… ok maybe not the last three but it is a good song nontheless. Listen and try to keep your shirt on please, I warned you. – Jordan

Leventina – Get On Fire

If you are not looking to get down and dirty this weekend, then maybe I can offer you something else to tickle your tastebuds. This Vancouver weather is no doubt depressing and sometimes it is better to listen to up-lifting progressive house rather than ear-shattering synths. Leventina probably can help more than I can; having just released their Glorious 3-track EP. My favourite track Get On Fire gets those happy chords in and sprinkles a little electro in for your pleasure. Cheer-up and listen. – Jordan
